Nancy Swan is a fifth generation Californian who has painted the world around her since childhood.  Accomplished in many mediums, she has been documenting the rapidly changing landmarks of our coastal history and lifestyle in ink, etchings, oils and watercolors.  Her award-winning artwork has been exhibited in shows and galleries and museums throughout Southern California.  Internationally collected, she was privileged to part of the “NWS/China Small Works Exchange,” a collaborative exhibition traveling in China through summer when it moved to the U.S., subsequently opening at the National Watercolor Society’s gallery in San Pedro, California.  Having served on the board of National Watercolor Society for eight years, first as Newsletter editor and then the Director of Membership, now while serving NWS in a consultant and volunteer whenever needed, she is currently taking more time to concentrate on her own painting and expanding opportunities.

Nancy attended O.C.C. and U.C.I. prior to graduating from U.C.L.A. Self-taught during the dawn of computers she embraced the advantages of digital graphic art without abandoning her love of natural media.  She has illustrated books, been featured in magazines including collector art books and the locally published “Art Lover’s Cookbook” O. C. edition. She has exhibited solo throughout the terminals of John Wayne Airport, and her work can be found at the Artist Eye Gallery in Laguna on Pacific Coast Highway. She has exhibited in the Festival of Arts Laguna Beach for five years and is exploring new techniques and ideas.
